Is my Super Seven bracelet real, or just amethyst?

Real Super Seven is mostly amethyst, so purple alone proves little. Look for a mix inside each bead: violet zones, smoky or clear areas, and fine needles, specks or reddish-brown flakes at different depths. A strand of evenly bright purple beads with no inclusions is more likely plain or dyed amethyst.

Super Seven is a trade name for quartz that grew in stages while other minerals were forming around it, so each growth stage trapped a different mix. That's why the pattern changes from bead to bead, and why a perfectly uniform strand is the warning sign, not the reassurance. Check drill holes too: dye collects there as darker purple rings.

1. Look for inclusions under light. Hold a bead up to daylight or a flashlight. Real Super Seven shows fine needles, specks or flakes inside the bead, at different depths, that shift as you tilt it. Printed or glitter "inclusions" sit flat.
2. Expect uneven color variation. Natural beads vary from lavender to deeper violet, with clearer and smokier zones. These zones form because the crystal took in different elements and inclusions at different stages of growth, so a strand of perfectly even, bright purple is more likely plain or dyed amethyst.
3. Check the drill holes. Darker purple rings around drill holes, or purple lines along cracks, usually mean dyed quartz.
4. Feel the temperature. Crystalline stone draws heat away from your skin faster than glass, and far faster than resin, so a natural bead stays cool for longer. A bead that turns warm almost at once is more likely resin or plastic. Use this only as a supporting clue, since glass can also feel cool at first.
5. Watch for glass clues. Perfectly round bubbles, swirl lines or a "too clean" look can point to glass.
6. Use a loupe or your phone's macro mode. Under 10x magnification, natural stone shows irregular inclusions, from fine lines to cotton-like clouds, sitting at different depths inside the bead.
7. Weigh it in your hand. A strand of natural stone feels solid and substantial; plastic and resin look-alikes feel noticeably light.

Does every Super Seven bead contain all seven minerals?

No, and an honest seller will say so. Super Seven is traditionally described as seven minerals grown together, but most beads show several of them, not all seven, and naming each mineral takes lab testing. Judge a bracelet by visible variety and clarity, using photos of the exact piece.

A bead is a small sphere cut from one part of a crystal, so it only captures the inclusions that grew in that part. A whole crystal may hold the full mix, while a 5.8mm or 8mm bead samples just a few. That's also why two beads on the same strand can look quite different.

Why do some Super Seven beads look almost clear?

Because the color in Super Seven is zoned. Violet sits in bands where the amethyst grew, with clear and smoky quartz between them, so a bead cut through a clear zone looks pale lavender. That's natural variation, and it's why our 10mm strand reads lighter than our deep-violet 8mm strand.

Amethyst takes in its color unevenly as it grows, so the violet gathers in growth bands. When beads are cut, some fall inside a band and some fall between bands. A light strand is a different part of the crystal, not a weaker or fake stone.

How do I cleanse and care for a Super Seven bracelet?

Cleanse your Super Seven bracelet with moonlight, sound, smoke or selenite. Day to day, avoid long, strong sun, store it alone in its pouch, keep it from perfume, lotion and chlorine, and take it off before showering, swimming, exercising or sleeping to protect the cord.

Energy cleansing (pick what feels right):

• Moonlight: Leave it on a windowsill overnight, especially during a full moon.
• Sound: Ring a singing bowl, bell or chime near the bracelet for a minute.
• Smoke: Pass it gently through the smoke of sage, palo santo or incense.
• Selenite: Rest it on a selenite plate or charging bowl overnight.

Everyday care:

• Avoid strong sunlight for long periods. Purple quartz can fade over time.
• Keep it away from chemicals: perfume, lotion, cleaning products and chlorine.
• Take it off before showering, swimming, exercising and sleeping. Heat, soap, chlorine and sweat break down elastic cord over time, and sleeping in a stretch bracelet keeps the cord under tension for hours, which slowly loosens it.
• Wipe with a soft, dry cloth and store it on its own so the beads don't get scratched.
• Unroll, don't pull: Take a multi-wrap bracelet off one loop at a time. Pulling the whole strand over your hand stretches the cord.

Can a Super Seven bracelet get wet or go in the sun?

A quick splash won't hurt the quartz, but keep the bracelet out of soaking water and long, strong sun. Water and soap weaken the stretch cord, and long exposure to strong light can slowly fade amethyst's violet. Cleanse it with moonlight, sound, smoke or selenite instead.

Amethyst's violet comes from tiny color centres in the crystal that strong light and heat can gradually reset, so fading is slow and permanent. The cord is the weaker link: elastic loosens with water, heat and soap. For the 5.8mm multi-wrap, unwind it one loop at a time so the cord isn't overstretched.

How do I wear a Super Seven multi-wrap bracelet?

Slip your hand through the first loop, twist the strand once and bring your hand through again until all three loops sit on one wrist. The violet, lilac and clear beads then line up like a stack of bracelets. Take it off one loop at a time instead of pulling the whole strand.

Which Super Seven size should I choose?

Choose by look first, then fit. The 5.8mm wraps about three times for a layered look, the 8mm is fine but the most densely included, the 10mm is the lightest lavender, and the 12.3mm and 14.3mm are bolder. Bigger beads show more pattern, but density, not diameter, sets the grade.

A bigger bead shows more of each bead's inclusions at once. A fine bead only looks richly included when the material is dense all the way through, which is why our 8mm sits at the top of the series.
