Super Seven, also known as Melody Stone or Sacred Seven, is a trade name for a rare crystal traditionally described as seven minerals grown together in one stone: amethyst, clear quartz, smoky quartz, rutile, goethite, lepidocrocite and cacoxenite. In practice, most beads show several of these rather than all seven at once.

This is the finest Super Seven in our collection: small 8mm beads in deep violet, packed with dense needle-like inclusions that show in bead after bead, finished with a single small accent bead and vintage-style accents. Finding this many richly included beads in a small, even size is rare, which is why this strand sits at the top of our Super Seven series.

How to Tell Real Super Seven from Fake

1. Look for inclusions under light. Hold a bead up to daylight or a flashlight. Real Super Seven shows fine needles, specks or flakes inside the bead, at different depths, that shift as you tilt it. Printed or glitter "inclusions" sit flat.
2. Expect natural color variation. Natural beads vary from lavender to deeper violet, with clearer and smokier zones. A strand of perfectly uniform, bright purple beads is a warning sign.
3. Check the drill holes. Darker purple rings around drill holes, or purple lines along cracks, usually mean dyed quartz.
4. Feel the temperature. Natural crystal feels cool to the touch and warms slowly. Glass tends to warm up faster in your hand.
5. Watch for glass clues. Perfectly round bubbles, swirl lines or a "too clean" look can point to glass.
6. Ask for real photos. A reliable seller shows the actual strand up close and says clearly whether anything is dyed or treated. Every photo on this page shows the real stone.
