What does larimar mean?

Larimar is a sky-blue stone with white, wave-like patterns, found in only one place in the world, in the Caribbean. Known as the heart of the ocean, it stands for a calm mind, easier communication, intuition and deeper love and connection.

Its soft blue comes from traces of copper in the mineral pectolite, and the white patterns formed as the mineral crystallized. Larimar was only named in 1974, so its meanings come from modern crystal tradition.

How do I cleanse and care for larimar?

Larimar's blue is light-sensitive and the stone is fairly soft, so keep it out of long, strong sun and heat, and protect it from knocks. Cleanse it with moonlight or sound rather than sun, wipe it with a soft dry cloth, and store it on its own in its pouch.

Energy cleansing (gentle options):

• Moonlight: Leave it on a windowsill overnight, out of direct sun.
• Sound: Ring a singing bowl, bell or chime near it for a minute.

Everyday care:

• Avoid long, strong sunlight and heat: they can fade larimar's blue over time.

US shipping is free on orders of $99 or more; otherwise it's a flat $8.99. Orders are processed in 1–3 business days and ship from Jiangsu, China with tracking, arriving in about 7–15 business days. Unworn items in their original packaging can be returned within 30 days; the customer pays return postage.
