What does candy tourmaline mean?
Tourmaline is a family of minerals that forms in nearly every color, and a candy mix brings many shades together. Known as the "lucky stone", it's traditionally a protective, good-luck stone: pink stands for love, green for growth, black for protection and yellow for joy.
This piece is a single-wrap bracelet of 6.7mm candy tourmaline beads in a rainbow of pink, berry, green, teal and yellow, finished with a four-point vintage-style star bead set with a pink-red stone, a small round vintage-style drop charm and tiny vintage-style spacers.
How it compares: The 6.5mm strands carry a gourd charm or classic accents and the 7mm is brighter pink; this 6.7mm is a full rainbow mix, finished with a four-point star bead set with a pink-red stone and a small round drop charm. Healing Energy: Which chakras and intentions is candy tourmaline linked with?
In crystal tradition, mixed tourmaline is associated with balancing all seven chakras: pink and green with the heart, black with the root, yellow with the solar plexus and blue with the throat. It's a protective stone, its bright colors are chosen to lift the mood, and it suits luck, blessings and joy.
In crystal tradition, candy tourmaline is linked with:
- Chakras: With so many colors, mixed tourmaline is traditionally associated with balancing all seven chakras. Pink and green are linked with the heart, black with the root, and yellow with the solar plexus. Blue tones are linked with the throat.
- Protection: Tourmaline's protective reputation traces back to a real property. When warmed or rubbed it builds a small electric charge and attracts dust and ash (pyroelectricity), which was once read as a lively, repelling energy.
- Emotional balance: Bright, saturated colors are widely associated with cheerfulness, so a rainbow strand is a small visual reminder to find lightness in the day.
- Joy & vitality: Its cheerful colors traditionally symbolise fresh energy and a playful, optimistic spirit.
Intentions it suits: good luck, blessings, protection, and everyday joy. It's a sweet choice for new beginnings and happy milestones.
Crystal meanings come from tradition and personal experience. They are not a substitute for medical advice or treatment.
How is this candy tourmaline bracelet made?

How can you tell if a tourmaline bracelet is real?
Hold a bead to bright light and rotate it: real tourmaline shifts slightly in shade or tone as you turn it, shows fine lines or needle-like inclusions, and varies from bead to bead. Round bubbles point to glass, and color gathered in drill holes or cracks points to dyed stone. Skip scratch tests.
Tourmaline's crystal structure bends light differently along different directions, so its color changes with the viewing angle. Glass and dyed quartz don't have that structure and look the same from every side. Dye can only soak into openings, so it concentrates in drill holes and cracks. A scratch or hot-needle test tells you little that these checks don't, and it permanently marks the bead.
- Look for natural color variety. Real candy tourmaline has uneven, natural shades. Some beads are clearer, some deeper, and some show two tones in one bead. Beads that are all perfectly bright and uniform, like a paint chart, are a warning sign.
- Check for natural inclusions. Hold a bead up to the light. Natural tourmaline often shows fine lines, tiny fractures or wispy inclusions inside the bead. Glass tends to look too clean or shows round air bubbles.
- Watch the color shift. Tourmaline is strongly pleochroic: its crystal absorbs light differently depending on direction, so the bead looks lighter or deeper as you turn it. Glass looks the same from every angle.
- Check the drill holes and cracks. Dye collects where it can soak in. Color that's concentrated around drill holes or along cracks usually means dyed stone.
- Feel the temperature and weight. Natural tourmaline feels cool and solid in the hand. Glass and plastic warm up faster and can feel lighter.
- Use a loupe or your phone's macro mode. Under 10x magnification, natural stone shows irregular inclusions, from fine lines to cotton-like clouds, sitting at different depths inside the bead.
Every photo on this page shows the real bracelet, photographed in our studio, so you can compare what you receive with these checks.
Is the warm-it-up dust test reliable for tourmaline beads?
Not really. Tourmaline can build a small static charge when warmed, which is where its old ash-puller name comes from, but the effect is weak and inconsistent in small polished beads. A bead that ignores tissue scraps isn't fake. Use the rotate-in-light and drill-hole checks instead.
The charge builds up along the length of a crystal, and it's strongest in long, intact crystals with clear ends. A round bead has no long axis left, so there's much less charge to gather, and any result is easy to misread.
Are candy tourmaline bracelets real if every bead is a different color?
Yes. Tourmaline grows in more colors than almost any other gem, and candy strands mix beads cut from differently colored material. A natural mix shows uneven shades, some two-toned beads and fine inner lines. Be wary of bright, identical-looking beads or a gritty, speckled texture under magnification, which suggests reconstituted beads.
Tourmaline's color depends on which trace elements were present as each part of the crystal grew, and that is why one crystal can shift from pink to green. Reconstituted beads are crushed stone pressed into resin, so they look evenly speckled instead of showing inner lines. Our pastel 6.5mm and rainbow 6.5mm and 7.2mm strands show how wide the natural range is.
How do I cleanse and care for a candy tourmaline bracelet?
Cleanse your candy tourmaline bracelet with moonlight, sound, smoke or selenite. Day to day, avoid long, strong sun, store it alone in its pouch, keep it from perfume, lotion and chlorine, and take it off before showering, swimming, exercising or sleeping to protect the cord.
Energy cleansing (pick what feels right):
- Moonlight: Leave it on a windowsill overnight, especially during a full moon.
- Sound: Ring a singing bowl, bell or chime near the bracelet for a minute.
- Smoke: Pass it gently through the smoke of sage, palo santo or incense.
- Selenite: Rest it on a selenite plate or charging bowl overnight.
Everyday care:
- Avoid strong sunlight for long periods. Some tourmaline colors, especially pinks, can fade over time.
- Keep it away from chemicals: perfume, lotion, cleaning products, chlorine and hot water.
- Take it off before showering, swimming, exercising and sleeping. Heat, soap, chlorine and sweat break down elastic cord over time, and sleeping in a stretch bracelet keeps the cord under tension for hours, which slowly loosens it.
- Wipe with a soft, dry cloth and store it on its own so the beads don't get scratched.
For step-by-step rituals, see our guide: How to Cleanse a Crystal Bracelet.
Which wrist should I wear my candy tourmaline bracelet on?
Wear candy tourmaline on your left to welcome in luck, blessings and joyful energy. Wear it on your right when you want to let go and feel protected. There's no wrong answer: choose the side that matches your intention, or switch whenever you like.
In crystal tradition, the left wrist is the "receiving" side. The right wrist is the "giving" or "releasing" side.

Orders are processed in 1–3 business days and ship with tracking from Jiangsu, China, arriving in about 7–15 business days.
Natural stone varies even within one batch, so every bead is checked by eye before stringing, and the bracelet you receive is exactly the one in the photos. What differs from bead to bead is the shade and inner lines, because each bead is cut from a different part of the crystal.
