What does ametrine mean?

Ametrine is quartz that holds amethyst purple and citrine yellow in the same crystal. In crystal tradition it carries both stones' meanings: a guardian stone of love, a stone of spirituality and wisdom, and a stone that attracts wealth and supports your career.

The two colors form side by side because different parts of the growing crystal took in iron in different ways. In Chinese tradition its purple recalls 紫气东来, an old sign that good fortune is on its way, and 九紫离火, a purple-and-fire image of a rising, prosperous period.
